Professional service firms of all disciplines have felt the effects of the credit crunch. The continued malaise in parts of the property market, a subdued financial sector and the impact of the public spending squeeze are likely to ensure that many firms will continue to face demanding times in the coming months.
And yet, why is it that some professional service firms can survive (and indeed prosper) in this environment whilst others fail when the mission of almost all professional firms is the same – to deliver outstanding client service; to provide fulfilling careers and professional satisfaction for their people; and to achieve financial success?
Clearly external factors can differ in their impact on different professional service firms but the internal challenges are similar. Put simply, it is how to bring the goals of service, satisfaction and success into balance.
