Simon is Chief Executive Officer of Zolfo Cooper Europe. Simon has combined his skills of business turnaround, strategic consulting and mediation in the development and implementation of business recovery strategies for many large and high profile turnaround and restructuring cases.
With more than 30 years of extensive experience, Simon has worked with companies to resolve their financial and legal problems. These have ranged in size from UK companies to large multinational corporations, many with cross-border insolvency issues.
CEO of Kroll Inc. from October 2004 to March 2008, a global firm with65 offices in 33 countries generating an annual turnover of $1 billion.
Major recent projects:
Acting as Chief Restructuring Officer of hibu plc, (formerly Yell) a UK listed international provider of print and digital directory services, supporting management in the negotiation and restructuring of its current indebtedness (£2.2 billion).
Chief Restructuring Officer of Snoras Bank, Lithuania’s largest local bank. Took overall responsibility for stabilising the Bank’s liquidity position and managing day to day operations whilst providing sufficient breathing space to undertake an analysis of the financial situation of the Bank and development of restructuring options, including recapitalisation, balance sheet reconstitution and insolvency.
Lead advisor to the board of a leading global tier 2 automotive parts manufacturer in its financial restructuring ($180 million debt). This has involved negotiating a debt restructuring and reorganisation plan with the Company’s lenders.
In one of the largest cross border restructuring proceedings in history, Simon was appointed lead administrator to the Federal-Mogul Company. The Federal-Mogul Company consists of 135 UK companies and is a leading global manufacturer of automotive parts, operating primarily out of the US and Europe.
